Hey all, those of you with later Bentleys(that cover '85 year and up), or other VW electrical literature please read:

I'm trying to install an MFA cluster(out of an '85 GTI) into my '83 rocco. My Bentley goes up to '84, and the wiring diagrams help here and there but are incomplete. Believe me I have tried very hard(using the archives and such) to do this on my own, but I need help. Can anyone with a Bentley that covers the '85 GTI somehow send me the wiring diagrams for the instrument cluster? Also, I need help learning some VW "electrical language". My Bentley has no key for this, my Haynes manual does have a key but it doesn't cover everything on the GTI cluster. On the two 14pt connectors on the MFA cluster, I have read the following off of the blue wiring web thing, and have identified what I can:

BLINK 49A -I'm pretty sure this is the turn signal indicator light

SA -no clue

KL 56 -no clue

TEMP -think this is for the water temp gauge sending unit

TANK -this is the sender for the fuel gauge

MASSE/ MFA-AT - I think this is the ground for the cluster and MFA switch

KL1 -think this comes from coil terminal 1

MFA-R-MO -no clue

UHR KL30 -I think this may be for the digital clock

now there are 4 blanks which I have no idea what they are, but they do have wires going to them(black, purple/black, white, green/black).

now for the 2nd(black colored) 14pt connector:

KL15 - no clue, on my key it says that "PLUS 15" means (+) terminal 15....

LED - FREI -no clue

LED - FREI - no clue

HANDSR - K -no clue

KL 61 -think this may be the alternator warning LED

OEL 0.3 -something to do with oil pressure?

OEL 1.8 -another something to do with oil pressure?

CHOKE - no clue, and I'm pretty sure an '85 GTI doesn't have a choke:)

OXS/CAT/D - OXS warning LED?

HALL - GEBER -no clue

MFA - SD - a wire from the MFA switch

MFA - LOE -another wire for the MFA switch

Simplest thing would be if somebody has a Key(my Haynes had an incomplete key, so I assume the later Bentleys or something would have a complete key), or if you guys can tell me what the above connectors should go to(and if I'm wrong in any of my identifications). Thanks a lot to those who even read this far! Thanks again-

Rob
