I've known people to buy running but ugly G60 for $1500. Too much.
Especially when you can get a nice running and pretty one for about $3800.

I found this BMW "mechanic" ("the vacuum lines of VWs confuse him") who
assumed ownership of this vehicle from his boss, the shop owner. The owner
is getting tired of him storing it in the shop since it's not being worked
on.

  The Good: It's a '91 Forest Green G60, w/ 126k, 5spd, SR, PW, non-ABS,
rebuilt G-Lader, body is pretty much straight (minus 2-3 minor dimples),
interior is cherry (black leather), glass is cherry, comes with basically
new 16" OZ rims/tires, racing cam, chip (unknown brand), techtonics exhaust
(not sure if header or DP). He also has a new set of Ground-Control
coilovers that haven't been installed (which I haven't seen yet because
they're at home). He also has all the components to do the rebuild (except
the pistons (see below)).

The Bad: The engine bay is in questionable condition. The head is removed
and looks decent, but the crank and pistons have been removed (the one
piston he showed me has some scoring on the sides (leaning out?). Couldn't
actually get in to see the block (because it was obstructed by the intake et
al. - but a PG long or short block shouldn't be that expensive, right?)

The Dilemma: He's asking $1800 and the guy is even willing to let me make
payments with post-dated checks. He needs to get rid of it. But in steps the
spouse and the house we're breaking ourselves just to pay for (well, not
quite). And, I already have a project (the '84 cabby).

Geez - addictions are tough! It was easier quitting smoking for cryssakes!
:)

Well, List? Help me out here...JT
