JH 8v knocks when cold

OK so you're telling me my cold morning knock is normal I hope?  I'm just very anal since I built this engine myself, and in my case that does not make me rest easy:)

Hey all,
now that temps are dipping well below 20F here, I have noticed in the
morning when I start up my '84(stock 1.8 JH with 8k on rebuild), it sounds
as though it is knocking. Not like an insane erratic knock, but a constant
knock-knock-knock-knock, well you get the idea. What's going on? The sound
goes away once warm. I'm running Mobil-1 synthetic 10w-30 if that has
anything to do with anything. Thanks to any who can provide even the
slightest info/help on this-
