Try the poor man dynomat, go to Home Depot or Lowes and get a roll of roofing tar paper. Works pretty damn good and it is weather proof, don't us expanding foam that may effect the servicability of the door internals later.

Brian

Oooh, good idea. I can use that to fill in all the gaps in my trunk where its not covered by dynamat. And the foam did seem a little iffy. Besides internals, I've heard stories of it expanding in the wrong direction and popping out the panel.

I have 5 1/4's in the doors but my door panels are made of what seems like 1/2" plywood or something. I'm not sure if this is normal for an '88 16v but either way, they rattle like hell. Is there an easier way to quiet them besides taking apart the doors to dynamat the inside? I've heard expanding spray insulation works and was thinking maybe I could get enough of the spray dynamat in there to do something. Otherwise, I'll probably just try removing the speakers and seeing how much dynamat pieces I can slide in through the hole.
