speakers

Is it the door or the speaker that is rattleing? If the speaker is, it could be hitting something or just shot. If its the door see if your panels are attatched properly.

The speakers are new Alpines, they're fine. It's the door panels. They're attatched fine, they're just made out of plywood and the speakers are attatched directly to the wood. If I turn it up or put bass boost on, I can put my hand on the panel and feel it vibrating. I suppose I could make a rubber gasket to go inbetween the speaker and the panel but not sure how well that would work.

<DIV></DIV>&gt;Since we've been discussing stereos and speakers, I have a problem with mine. I have 5 1/4's in the doors but my door panels are made of what seems like 1/2" plywood or something. I'm not sure if this is normal for an '88 16v but either way, they rattle like hell. Is there an easier way to quiet them besides taking apart the doors to dynamat the inside? I've heard expanding spray insulation works and was thinking maybe I could get enough of the spray dynamat in there to do something. Otherwise, I'll probably just try removing the speakers and seeing how much dynamat pieces I can slide in through the hole.
