Why the Passat? With the Scirocco?

I have a '93 Passat GLX VR6.
Reasons: 2 kids, I know VW's, VR6 is a torque monster so to speak, 5-speed
wagon which is unheard outside of german cars, low cost and it's a VW :)

Why is it that Scirocco owners have Passat's?  That is a very curious
thing.

I have both because the Rocco is an auto-x only car.  If I drove the
thing on the street I would be in jail by now.  :D
