The question I have... why use a Heated O2 Sensor on a 8v ? what does, the
heater O2 sensor provide, that the non-heated o2 sensor doesn't?

Subject: Where to mount O2 sensor bolt

I have a custom made header (4 into 1) that I need to mount my o2 sensor
bolt onto. However, I'm not sure where to mount it. If I mounted it in the
general location that my stock manifold has then it would only be reading
one pipe. The only place to read all the pipes is down near where it bolts
into the cat, but the only problem here is that I would have to cut the wire
and extend it so it reaches there. This is for an 84 8 valve with a single
wire o2 sensor. First, is it safe to cut the wire and extended it (I would
think it would be) and second, is it safe to have it that close to the cat
(I don't see why it wouldn't be).

Another interesting thing about this system is that it has a 5th very
small pipe running between the 4 big ones with a screw-in hole at the end.
I'm guessing this was put there to diagnose the system before races so that
it wouldn't need an o2 sensor. However, the hole is smaller than the o2
sensor would need so I'm not sure what to do with this. I'm guessing that I
'll have it cut and welded shut when I get the bolt welded on. In the
picture you can't really see it but on the side profile you can barely see
it sticking out about half way up the header sticking out the top.
Whatever I do, I need to block it some how because exhaust is going to come
straight up it once its on the car.

I can take and post some better pictures later, these were for the TT guy
so I could order a Cat from him.

And here is the site :o)
