Well - I thought things were looking up. I found the hose (90' from side of head to heater core) that ruptured and as luck would have it, it was the only one stocked by our local specialty parts house. So I thought things were looking up.

Get home, get the hose in after messing with the damn spring clamp for way longer than necessary, fill it, run it. Still no fan. So I shut it off. I determined that's it my brand new low temp thermostat because the top of the radiator was not hot. Answer me this: why can't new parts work properly? Especially when the housing that part rests in is buried behind a stubborn power steering pump! Worse yet, I notice that the hose just next to the one I just replaced is now leaking. The same offset-sized-ends hose that only the dealer is supposed to carry, but the two dealers I called today don't stock. So much for driving it to work tomorrow...

As I write this now in a tired stupor, I flashback to just about every COPS episode:

"Back away from the car, sir.....SIR! BACK AWAY FROM THE CAR!"
