Subaru?

If you're going that route, Japan has ALWAYS kept the really good cars
on their own shores

I've gotta agree here.  All they ship us is pretty much crap.  I would
rather spend $18,500 on a brand new Scirocco or 82' GTI than for one of
those marshmellow handling cars they sell now.
