where can I buy a straight pipe?

LOL, Dave - I didn't know you had one either...I post pretty regularly here
(keeps me from paying full attention to my job! (thankfully at times!  :)

You're right about the exhaust shops around here - a few of the ones I've
done business with in the past are quite sensitive about modifying a Cat...

Even some of the junk yards here hack out the cat from the carcasses before
they sent them to their vulture feeding frenzy...

The way I look at it is that I could pay $20 for manufactured one that's
fitted for my application (at least that's what it used to cost), pay a shop
who _hopefully_ will fab it for me for $20-?? or get a high-flow cat for
~$150...this is for the budget cabby project, so $20 wins out....

Not sure about the Jamaica scouting excursion - my fiancée's rather leery
about wandering off the grounds. Do you really think there would be any Euro
parts there?  It's not exactly Europe!  :)

Hey Jeff, small world. I didn't know you had a Scirocco as well.

About that "test" pipe. So you don't want to go to an exhaust/muffler shop?
You could try Baxter Auto Parts or Pep Boys. I know those guys have some
exhaust tubing (emphasis on "some").  Some of the exhaust shops in Cal might
be unable to cut you one. I'm sure they have some sort of regulations. At
any rate, good luck with it.

You know you'll have to go on a day mission while you're in Jamaica to see
if you can find some euro VW parts, right?!
