1800 isnt bad, so long as they dont cut any corners. they had better replace EVERY seal for that price, not to mention several bearings. dont forget the bolt kit for the quaife. also for that price the clutch they throw in there had better be decent.
Rieger has an FN, and even though it has longer gears, 1st is narrower than an AGB/9A (due to final drive). The rieger loves spinning wheels in first, so a quaifed FN would be a decent animal on a turbo car.
... side note, the twin is getting a pair of quaifed rebuilt FF trannies (same as FN).

And I was wondering why I was having a hard time getting into 4th gear...*GGGrind* Post Cincy oil change, I discover my undercarriage covered in oil. From trans seals all the way back to the muffler. I know it is a new leak, since I scrubbed my undercarriage with degreaser and a vegetable brush last summer.(sick man huh) Removing the trans filler plug to discover no fluid.

Next project..FN with Quaife. Callaway uses tall ratio trannies. Local VW tuner quotes $1800 parts and labor. Is that cheap? A Quaife is $800 alone.

  Economy please improve, I'm broke.
