[tech] turbo vs. super

i don't want to beat a dead horse here, but i'm just looking for some
basic information that i'm sure a number of you have come across. i'd
appreciate it if some of these questions could be answered. and i'm not
looking for specifics (brands, models, etc.), just some general
information. thanx.

1) what is *generally* considered the better option - super or turbo?
the safer / more reliable?

2) as i've come to understand it, the super is always on (being as it
runs off the engine) vs. the turbo which has a lag b/c the exhaust (but
doesn't rob horsepower from the engine). correct?

3) what are the physical dimensions of the smallest super made?

4) both of these are more-or-less bolt on options, yes? nothing has to
be done internally to the engine, correct?

i'm not really planning on doing anything turbo/super at this time,
but i'd like the info for later on. any info you might have would be
great. thanx.
