CIS-E vs. CIS-Motronic

With 210,000 miles on my CIS I never had the problems you refer to. Nor have
I had any problems on 3 other CIS cars. If you park your car for a long
time gas can evaporate and gum up the small passages in the fuel
distributor. I don't think it's a feature of CIS like it is for, say, an SU
carb that simply will not hold it's settings. I think it's a function of
long term storage without precautions or simple fuel system neglect.
