Well to all that replied, thanks. 

The rods are uni-directional (only go in one way). I'm in the process of working something out with the shop that built the block and a local shop to get things fixed.

I'm thinking this statement is going to require some proof.

As far as Josh's engine there is no way the local machine shop can
machine or hone anything but a round bore.
