Not sure which switches you're refering to. The Haltech has to have a
tps to work properly. The KS ignition has to have the idle and full
throttle switches to work. The Passat TB has a setup with the complete
set of switches. Not sure if the Haltech will work with the Passat TPS,
but it's pretty tolerant, so I would bet it will. Since I'm using an E6K
I only need the TPS and ditched the clumsy expensive VW switches and
adapted the Haltech/GM TPS to the TB.

I removed the VW temp sensor and drilled and tapped the coolant outlet
pipe for the Haltech sensor. Don't know if the VW sensor is compatible
or not. Personally, I found it easier to adapt and use the Haltech
sensors than to spend hours trying to round up mating connectors and
pins to adapt the Haltech.

The Haltech will use any kind of O2 sensor; 1, 3 or 4 wire or you can
hook up a wideband O2. If you're using a garden variety A/F gauge you
can splice off the signal wire of the existing O2. No recommendations on
A/F gauges since really all they show is whether you're rich or lean,
but not how rich or lean with any accuracy.
If you're electrically inclined check out www.diy-wb.org for an
affordable, ACCURATE A/F gauge.

I can guarantee that the maps for my 2.0L 8V with 440cc injector engine
will have no relevance to the maps your engine will need. The default
maps will almost certainly get your engine started then it's just tuner
heaven. BTW, I resent the comment about SDS. The Haltech is miles better
than the SDS and the cost is only a couple hundred more when you
consider the entire cost of converting from CIS.

If you have anymore questions I'd be glad to help. If you're located in
Maryland or close I might be persuaded into a little hands on.
