'84 special edition Scirocco sold only in CA?

No surprises that early 1984 was when the '16v' bodykit was first used on
euro 8v models: AFAIK the limited edition UK 'Storm' model was the first to
get the bodykit, which was painted the same colour as the bodywork, and it
got the bigger 185/60/14 wheels - montreals - and the big rear wing. I
suspect they would have liked to put the 16v engine in it as well but it
wasn't ready at the time. That would have been nice since, in the
time-honoured manner of mad VAG decisions, we never officially got the 16v
in the UK, only a small number of LHD special imports.

HTH,

Ewan Hopkins.
