Ditch Publisher (for websites anyway) and fire up notepad. You'll learn
more, create better sites and feel like you've accomplished more.

As for hosting, try www.godaddy.com, they also do cheap domain
registrations. I've never used any of the free ones so can't help there.

First of all, I wish everyone a happy and car-filled New Year!!
Second of all, my bad-ass self got a digital camera for Christmas, and I 
want to take full advantage of it.  I've been wanting to set up a 
website for a while now, but haven't had the patience/content/etc to do 
it.  Now that I've joined the digital world for keeps (I'm even getting 
a free webcam 'cause I bought MS Publisher), I'm looking for site help. 
 Where is the best place to go for hosting?  How, exactly, do I get 
started?  According to Publisher, I'll be able to play and make a decent 
site with it, how do I get it on the web?  
Anything anyone knows, I'm all ears.  If you want, post off-list so 
everyone doesn't have to take part.
I'll have pics of the '81 up on Potterman's site soon!!
