Actually, you run a vacuum line from each independent throttle body to a
precisely sized vacuum plenum. This gets around the problem where if you
run map off of one cyliner it will have problems idling. Additionally you
run the brake booster off the vacuum plenum I think. Anoterh option is, as
you say, to run TPS only, but i'd have it idle with tps only and once tps
or rpm is above a certain limit, kick the MAP back in?

Hmm,

possibly. I will probalby set up the megasquirt on the scirocco just with
a stock manifold first, to avoid complications, and when my 9a is ready to
go in, convert to ITB's at that time. But really, i am seeling a 83
aircooled vanagon westy, and the money from it will buy me the
throttlebodies, so i may well be unable to contain myself & order the
Jenvey's them :)

I have found out that my kit should be here in 2 weeks or so... So i can
get out the soldering iron & go to town.

Because of our emissions laws here, I do want to get a sticker good for 2
years before i megasquirt or ITB it, i'm sure it will still pass, but i'd
rather have 2 years to make sure or find an alternative way to get it
legal. (here if it sniffs within spec, they never pop the hood, but if it
fails, they'd probably notice pretty easily that the ITB's weren't
stock..)

take care,

Steve
