I am setting it up to be a wicked fast fun car :) order of my preferenecs
are...

occasional track days
autocross
Tight twisty backroads
0-60 & 1/4

(which one of these is first changes based on my mood...)

a vastly removed last is overall top end. (tracks dont have long enough
straights for me to worry if i can hit 140 or 150, esp when im not
racing, just funning.) and topping it out on the street is a good way to
loose ones license. So in that sense, the less top end the better ;)

I plan to set this guy up to rev to 8k powerfully and come on no higher
than 3500 (at least thats my plan, we'll see if i can get there or not.)

>From my research i think a 4K is a close enough match that it was worth
buying... its the holy grail of transaxles for many on vortex & if its
good i can always re-sell it. esp if i put a bolt kit & Peloquin diff
shim kit in.

take care,

Steve

P.S. the jetta i got the 4k from had 100k miles on it, & i believe that
figure to be accurate, the body on the jetta was perfect & the interior
had not a rip. Hopefully it was junked for an engine problem & not a
transaxle one ;) or if it was SMS they junked it early enough that there
is no hole in the case & i can fix it. Maybe it was junked for a bad 02
sensor or cat. with all the emissions laws around here, thats
unfortunately quite likely :(
