MK1 rain gutter removal, yay or nay?

I don't think it's a huge issue. Just grind back the rain gutter and weld
the seam.
BUT...welding causes warpage and the roof is one big flat panel that'l warp
like a potato chip at the slightest provocation. Talk it over with your shop
and make sure they know you're aware of potential warpage before they start.
I've done enough welding on car bodies to realize that areas that seem
remote from the actual weld can be effected by the stress of welding.
