drilling bottom or air box

I drilled my airbox, because it was my thinking that the factory design was 
suitable for the engine of the day.  I figured at 14psi that I would be 
moving more air than the box was designed to move.  My intercooler scoop 
drives fresh air into the engine compartment, just in front of the air box.  
I don't know if it improved performance, since I do upgrades in my car in 
large amounts at one time.  Not one at a time and take it out for a spin to 
see if I got 1hp.  One thing I do know, I don't enjoy the extra noise it 
makes.  In many instances, extra noise doesn't bring any major hp gain.  But 
it ain't a daily driver.
