Just a big ME TOO; the metal is like a self lubricating alloy, it
crumples pretty easily. Just work slowly and you will be able to remove
it bit by bit.

As them Brits say: Easy Peazy.  Don't forget there is a small gasket
that goes on after, treat it gently.
