[tech] Hard Brake/Fuel Lines/doing your own



You can do it.  There's nothing to fear but fear itself.....
Take a sample line to NAPA, etc.  They can supply the proper sized tubing
(be sure it's brake line tubing, nothing else will do), the properly- sized
bender (don't use the 'spring'-type, get the two-handled, lever-type), a
tubing cutter, and a flaring tool. Be certain that the flaring tool will do
double-flares, it's not recommended that you use single flares on brake
lines.  Get 50% more tubing than you think you'll need, 'cause you will make
some mistakes and end up starting over ( I know... I used to plumb a lot of
lines in race cars).
  You will get a great deal of satisfaction from doing it yourself.  You may
not save much money, but you won't spend much more than buying pre-fabbed
lines, either.
