DD brake problems

Hi,
My new daily driver, a 1991 Jetta GL has a problem with dragging front
disc brakes. I had to change the rotors for state inspection. The pads
are almost new. Now the brakes intermittantly drag. This is to the point
of the rotors getting very hot and the car almost stops itself.
I already have cleaned the contact points for the caliper. Opened and
closed the calipers numerous times. They do seem to move fairly freely.
I also have lubricated the sliders on the calipers. Any other ideas?
