web site ideas? support? Mirror?

(Collective Sigh....)

Gentlemen - I can see many others' points about unifying (or trying to
anyway) a location where anyone can find anything tech-related. I, for one,
have also hunted high and low looking for valuable bits of tech (you should
see my "favorites" folder on IE - I have a "scirocco stuff" folder that goes
on for days)

I can somewhat sympathize with Patrick though - though not
sharing/mirroring/whatever-webspeak-I-don't-know ;) may seem kinda contrary
to what we're about, he's invested a lot of time and effort in his site and
it's a great resource. He should be proud of it and get the credit he
deservers. (boy, this is a sticky one I don't like touching (eww, that
sounded gross...). As should you, Brett (not the touching part.... :p )

(and now the proposed solution)
can't the .org site list Patrick's home page and a list of his tech notes?
Patrick usually announces when he posts a new note anyway. You could update
the .org according to those posts...Or even more simply (though less
effective) "if you don't find it here, check [insert link here]"...wait,
that sucks...

Maybe there should be more policing (?) of the links in the .org (sorry
Brett - hell, I'll volunteer) if there's concern over dead links...

I don't know what other fair way there is.....

Whatever comes out of this, I just want to give kudos/props to you both -
never be reluctant to ask the list for assistance. I sure I speak for a lot
of us when I say that we you both quite a bit!

Have a good weekend everyone!

Jeff
