my battery exploded?

Was it cold? Like really cold? A dead battery will freeze and explode.

  here's the thing though. the battery wasn't holding any kind of charge =
what so ever. you could jump start the car, let it run for an hour, and =
then turn it off. after turning it off it would not restart, it had to =
be jumped all over again. that's why i think somebody must have done =
something, maybe stick it on the battery charger too long or even jump =
it with the wires backwards?
