Ford Escort Cooling Fan

you left questions unanswered;
did moving the rad stop the squeal?
does it squeal when the fan is off?
without knowing the answers to those questions, i'd say it's nothing more
than a loose fan belt....if the fan is hitting the radiator, you'll not get
a "shriek", you'll get a 'chatter'.... perhaps a fan bearing is bad?
