Follow this simple procedure:
1. Get in.
2. Start up.
3. Place in 1st gear and set off.
4. Hold pedal to floor, watching tachometer closely.
5. Note maximum RPM last seen before engine blows up.
6. Subtract 500 RPM, record as new redline. 
7. Rebuild engine.
