I need an Alternator!! was..Wire gauge for redoing alt/battery/ground connections?

Hey People, I just found out my alternatoe isn't charging.
I need a new one as Fast as possible, but I am a bit tight on cash.
1800VWPARTS has one for $85 with no core charge, this sounds great but I
was wondering if anyone has one for cheaper. All the Places around here
want way to much to rebuild mine or don't have one.
