A1 16V?  I thought the UK never got the 16V Scirocco -- and I don't know of 
any other A1 cars that got a 16V.

That would mean that you're right -- you never had the pansy cams in the A2 
cars.  But you had only the pansy MOTORS in the A1 cars. :)
