Re: What's the straight dope on SS brake lines?

Last summer I had replaced the whole brake system on my 85 8v, one piece at a time. The
front brakes would stick after the car was driven about 1/2 hr, and would return to
normal after cooling off for 1/2 hr. First, 2 new vented (old ones were solid) fr
rotors, Metal master pads, new shoes in rear, Pentosen fresh fluid.( these items needed
to be replaced )Then, new fr calipers. Then new master cyl.. Then Neuspeed SS
lines. Finally the booster.I did notice an improvement in the pedal feel (firmer) but was
expecting more firmness.Worth the $? I'd say not unless your old ones need to be
replaced , then sure, why not. In any case the brake booster caused the sticking. There
must have been a tiny hole(although I didnt see one, and the booster looked brand
new!).Vw wanted like $900 cdn for a new one!!!Picked up a used one for $50, which solved
the problem.
