RE: dead horse spring question



Hi,
     OK, we've already established at least some of the books my parts supplier
uses are not completely accurate (see the discussion about axles), but when I
was sourcing new springs for my 87 8v, we noticed several manufacturers had
the same part numbers for both 8v and 16v springs, some didn't.  The
explanation we got when we called was that the only difference should be the
16v is heavier so some manufacturers provide a slghtly stiffer spring set.
     The translation is (I guess) that the correct answer is going to depend
as much on who you ask as anything else.
