It has changed over the last five years.  You have to pay to have things
taken away now.  Even if you tow it to the yard, they usually won't take it.
I have friends at yards around here so that helps out.

pounds for a car if it was delivered to them with all the oil, gas, and
freon removed.  So, if all the useful parts have been removed from a car
there is no money in it, the scrap recycler is just a way to get rid of it.
