Yes on all counts!! Your observations are correct.  Most will recommned
that when you do the pass side mount, you do the timing belt and other
belts also...I believe removal of these is pretty much required to do
the mount.  And if not strictly required, removal makes life a lot
easier.

Best bet is to find some old brackets from another car, press your new
mounts into them, and then bolt up those.  This way your car is down
much less time.  See if someone local can help you out...

A big old vise can be used to press the mounts in, if you don't have
access to a press...if you ship that task out, get someone who knows
what they are doing to press them in.

This is a well-discussed topic...wonder if there's a tech procedure
anywhere?
