Re: rear axle stud

I have one break off flush on my Mk1 Scirocco.  I ground it nice and smooth 
and then drilled and tapped what there was for an M8 or maybe M10 (can't 
remember) bolt.  That stud is attached to a plate inside the unibody of the 
car so without major surgery, there's no way to get to it.  It's ben holding 
up just fine for several years now.
