If in doubt, read the bottom (heh),

Metal Oxide Silicon Field Effect Transistor
It is a voltage controlled device, as opposed to a transistor which is
current controlled.
This enables a more sensitive input/higher gain output,
and MOSFETs can switch higher currents on and off.

Feel free to bombard me with any/all electronic type questions, i'll be
happy to answer.
...And no, i cant order you a flux capacitor :P
