Andrew-  I share your concern about being involved in an accident, but don't
get paranoid to the point that you can't enjoy the ride!!!   We build our
'Rocs to drive!  They WILL get stone chips, scratches, dents, and -
sometimes - wrecked.  It just goes with the territory.  I'm reminded of
something an old-timer once told me when I was building airplanes and, being
an old-timer myself now, I'll pass on:  I was over-designing the parts for
enough strength to survive crashes, all the time adding more and more
weight, and he said, "Son, you build 'em to fly, not to crash."

Drive safely, allow for the other guy's mistakes, and have fun with your
car.  BUT, neither it, nor you, will last forever.

That is why I am worried of putting my Scirocco on the
road again.  The things that hold the bumpers are
rusted out at least once a month on the school bus I
ride in school I see a rear ending which makes me
worry about driving even since my car is not lowered
since A1's are a lot small than new cars which are
wider and heaver
