Ok all, I got the new VW Power (winter 2002) here and they did a write up on
the Nuespeed supercharger kit.  They list the torque gain at 25 to 35 lb-ft
accross the board (max is at 3500 rpm) and 36.2hp at 5700 rpm max of 42.3hp
at 6280 rpm (nice cruising rpm!?).  So the claim of 50% is out the window
unless there are other mods.  They have a chart that compares to the stock
1.8T which, to me, still falls quite a bit short of the 1.8T power and
torque.  The most iritating part of this article is that in a column next to
this article Les Bidrawn says (quote) "The Nuespeed supercharger is one of
the best things to happen to VW tuning since a company called Okrasa bolted
dual carbs and ported heads to a 36hp Bug, effectively doubling it's
output".  What a Crock!!!  Nothing about the Callaway setups, Drake,
Oettinger, etc.  Anyway, FWIW!!
