Re: Engine stops at random times...



This sounds a bit like a problem I had on the Jetta several years ago.  The one of the main power terminals on the fuel pump relay overheated and damaged the connector in the relay plate.  When it got hot enough, the connection would open, stopping the fuel pump.  After a minute or so of cooling down, the car would start again.  Mine would die only at an idle, so its not exactly the same problem, but it wouldn't hurt to take a good look at the fuel pump relay and the connector in the relay plate that it plugs into.
