going backwards again

running great the other day with by passing the fuel tank with a gas can, this morning  I hook air up to the outlet on tank  get it
unplugged hook back up to tank, now it'll run for a few seconds and die, have to let sit 4or 5 min. before it'll start again, same
thing run and die. gas pours out the out let when I checked it again. any ideas before I start testing everything again?
