I am hearing that the real VW stuff for coolant (the blue kind) is
useful for our older cars. Up to this point I am all the way with the
orange phosphate free stuff like Prestone. Stay tuned.

The whirring sound _might_ be the tensioner. Maybe.

You can reblacken the trim & bumpers w/ Forever Black, t comes with a
silicon remover/cleanr concentrate and the stuff in a shoe polish type
applicator. Good stuff, lasts a long time.
