[TECH] Alternate Non-A/C Alternator mount kit.UPDATE

Went to the junkyard. ... again that $1 entry fee is starting to add up
:-), but found a little toy today (german foglight switch -- i think)
anyways.

I went and examined the 8v no a/c alternator mount setup today. Several of
my questions were answered. the boat anchor that is used does basically
one thing it offsets the pulley back about 2-5mm. the lower mount the
pivot point for the alt. mounts to the block the same way the upper mount
for the boat anchor attaches. the 8v upper adj arm mount differently than
the 16v arm.

Suggested changes.
Use a non-a/c 8v lower mount (wt. apprx 1.0lb) its really small.
use the exsisting upper bar for the adjustment bar. shim the pully or use
a diff pulley like the one from an 8v ( dont know if they are the same or
diff. measure the pulley belt length and order one from potterman or mark.

anybody got a better idea or want to shoot holes in the plan. BTW I'm
getting my A/C fixed so im outta the running on trying this unless i find
a 16v laying around the junkyard.
