RE: RANT: 1.8T in Scirocco 16V

I was not meaning to sound as if I was looking down my nose at anyone. Sorry
if I came off like that. I wasn't comparing valve numbers to penis length. I
was upset because Kelly is a friend of mine and to call someone a poseur
because someone takes a car to a shop is lame. And to assume that person
knows nothing about the swap or is otherwise inept because they chose to let
professionals do the swap is also real narrow minded.

Kelly is not someone new to VWs or who only knows how to change his oil (car
in question is getting a new 3rd gear by Kelly right now). I don't
understand how everyone all the sudden knows someone just because he took
the car to a shop to have most the work done. It would be safe to say that
Kelly and Yarrow know more about 1.8T swaps than anyone else on this list,
why is this. Because THEY have built one.

But you know what..whatever. If you want to judge someone you have never
met, I hope that style works out for you and the rest of this list.

While you're busy looking down your nose at those of us with 8V's, I'd
just like to point out that I have a lot more respect for someone that
can modify his own motor (no matter how many valves it has), understands
the basics of how all the parts work and can tune his or her own
ignition and fuel systems as opposed to somebody that pays a shop to do
the work, but is damn good at changing the oil and filters.
As far as the comment about 300hp (at the wheels?); does the fact that
you KNOW somebody that has 300 hp (as opposed to having 300hp yourself)
make you superior to somebody that has, say, 150 hp at the wheels?
And finally, just my .02, I'd say that 300hp (at the wheels!) really
doesn't mean a whole hell of alot without a Quaife.
No offense to the guy that owns the 1.8T Scirocco. Since I own an 8V and
a 20V, I'm sure it's an awesome and perhaps scary car
