Re: Coolant disposal? everyday is earth day

When I yanked the a/c out of my Rabbit I didn't have to worry about safely
disposing of the r-12, it had already leaked out. Just find the recharge
fitting, it looks like a valve stem for a wheel, push on the valve with a
screw driver. If there's no pressure it's safe to take the a/c out, because
there isn't any r-12 left in the system. Of course if you're a/c is blowing
cold air it will still have pressure, so no need to test it. If there is
pressure you'll have to take it to a certified shop to get it evacuated, who
knows maybe they'll even pay you for it. R-12 is worth it's weight in gold
now that they don't make it anymore.
