valve timing

ok guys, i just got done doing the pass. side motor mount on my 88 16v.  now
it's time for the timing belt.  i just have a quick question.  how does teh
vibration damener mount. i notived that there is an elongated hole on the
back side of it.  is this the one that i line up with the pin on the crank
sproket?

thanks a bunch, i'd hate to get everything together and realize that the
timing is off by 180 degrees...  'cause wouldnn't that mean if it did start,
it's time for a head job?
