Mine has 264000kms and needed quite a bit of mechanical work. The brakes were
shot (likely from sitting) (hint was the non - functional P brake - cable
snapped because the calipers were junk) and we actually ended up putting an
engine into it. So now I have a fine car with 88000kms on the engine. Tell me
where else I could get the same for less money. Parts have proven to be easy
enough to locate with the help of the list. Some rust as said before, around
door handles and wheelwells. Otherwise the car is amazingly solid compared to
my A2 of the same year. Driver's seats seem prone to wear for some reason ;)
Just be set to "put more into it than it's worth", because you will love
driving it. If the price is right, and the body's
decent, why not?
