OIL and Filters on a 1.8L

	Well after listening to all talk about the oils and filters that should and
should not be used.
here is what my research has discovered.

1) all 1.8L from 74 until 1999 cars came and where designed to use 20w50 oil
2) The factory Installed Castrol 20w50 into the engines and IS the
recommended oil to use
3) The  factory "bosh" "VW" filter used on the 1.8L uses a by-pass valve in
it in case of a blockage in the filter
4) the said factory filter has been made BY FRAM under VW specs since 1974
for all 1.8L engine.
