My Scirocco was modified from 1.8 stock 90hp to 145hp 2.0 with no mods
to the FI.
I adapted a Rabbit CIS to a Fiat 1470cc Twin Cam with no changes to the
FI itself other than fabricating the parts required to fit it to the
engine. Worked like a champ with much better driveability and power than
the original carb.
As far as CIS vs. CIS-E, just remember that once the full throttle
switch is activated, CIS-E performs essentially like CIS where the
fuel/air ratio is determined by the shape of the air cone. Power wise
there is really no difference. Part throttle economy and driveability
should be better with the CIS-E.
