<snip Sal>
Installed is the oil pressure gauge from an Audi. At idle, the gauge reads
3.4 - 4 bars. Honestly, I don't recall the exact reading. However, during
accelartion, it gets pinned at 5 bars. What readings should I be getting
and is this the correct gauge for a 16V? Anyone? TIA

I have a 5 bar gauge from an Audi in my 16v. At Idle, it reads about .7
bar. According to Bentley, you should be getting 2 bar at 2000 rpm. Mine's
dead on (I'm using 20w-50 dino oil). The deal with the 5 bar is when the
car is cold, it's pegged. Also at 5000+ rpm, you'll see pressure in the
4.5 - 5 bar area. Contrary to Gerry's comment, I have no problem running a
5 bar gauge. Are you sure you've matched the sender and gauge properly?
Make sure you have a 5 bar sender. It should be stamped on the sender's
mounting bolt head. If this is good, check your ground. Bad or no ground
will make the gauge read high, not low. HTH.
