need help with plug wires!!!

ok, this is really lame... how do the spark plug wires go on (which order) I 
had some accel do it your self plug wires so I put them together. put them on 
the car, and it wont start. I figured it is the boots (the ones that were on 
there have the metal insulator over it, which I figured touches the block and 
gives something somewhere a ground, whereas the accel's just have a rubber 
boot...) so I go buy the only plug wires I can get (Xact) and they have a 
different boot also. hard to describe, but the wire goes into a 4inch metal 
(the metal is brown, fucking ugly) and ends in a rubber boot. it connects to 
the wire the same way as the stock ones, but doesnt touch the block. so, I 
crank it and it doesnt fire, same problem as with the accel's... so I try 
switching the wires around, nothing.. I really need some help asap, so if 
anyone is listening....
